The Sweet Life

January 2023 Shipment

Great Lakes Red

Few wines can take you back to your childhood, but this one stands above the rest. The popular Great Lakes Red features 100% concord, the same grape you had as a kid in your lunchtime peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. You might even get a strong taste and aroma of the sparkling grape juice your parents poured you to celebrate New Year’s as a kid. But now, you get the enjoy that taste as a sweet wine. Nutter Butters are an easy pairing, but we added a No Bake Peanut Butter Pie recipe to try with this wine.

Winter White

Winter isn’t coming. It’s here. And the best way to fully embrace the cold is to grab yourself some Winter White. This wine is well-known throughout the area for its unique blue bottle, and it’s enjoyed throughout the entire year because of its taste. The crisp, semi-sweet white blend is a great option for any occasion. Having a pizza night with the fam this weekend? Be sure to have this ready to serve. We think that’d be pretty chill.

Late Harvest Riesling

The Late Harvest Riesling is always a fun wine to make, especially back in 2020. The Riesling grape varietals can have distinct flavors depending on how they develop late in the season. We push our harvest dates back as late as possible to take advantage of this, and from October 23-29, 2020, we harvested these grapes from nine separate vineyards at two sites. This allowed us to create this great wine, which recently earned an 88 rating from Wine&Spirits. It features a rich honey flavor and white floral notes. You may also taste hints of green apple with a sugared grapefruit finish.

White Sangria

Leelanau Cellars features two different Sangrias, a wine that originated in the Iberian Peninsula. Our White Sangria is pretty popular. So much so, it took home Best of Class in 2020 in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. This wine features a balanced flavor of peaches and tropical fruits along with a little bit of floral and spices to add to the Sangria taste. White Sangria also pairs well with our Farm Fresh Cranberry Wine to form a delicious cocktail on a Sunday Funday.

Raspberry Bubbly Moscato

Our Farm Fresh fruit wines are known for their farm-to-bottle tastes. That’s the case here with the Bubbly Raspberry Moscato. This wine tastes like, you guessed it, raspberries! Fresh and juicy berries with a sweet taste and a little bit of that familiar tart flavor. On top of that, you get to enjoy this wine with some bubbles. This is a great wine to share with family and friends as well since it’s gluten free and vegan friendly. It also forms a perfect pairing with chocolate, which is key with Valentine’s Day quickly approaching. Hint. Hint.

Suggested pairing: Dark Chocolate

Apple Fruit Wine

Enjoy the taste of apple-flavored beverages, but not a fan of hard ciders? This wine is for you. The Lakeshore Farms Apple Wine brings you right to the apple orchard with a crisp and refreshing flavor of ripe apples. The wine doesn’t disappoint, as it took home the Double Gold Award in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in 2021. Pair it with some caramel candy to get the full experience of caramel apples.
